Key Features
Cloud Readiness
The SAM Cloud-ready Review provides the Customer with an end-to-end analysis of their cloud-ready infrastructure taking into consideration current software deployment, usage and licensing data. The analysis will be the basis for the evaluation of the Customer’s overall Cloud-ready state in relation to their Cloud strategy, providing insights on the business, licensing and technology benefits to moving some or all workloads to the Cloud. The analysis will also lead to the ability to provide recommendations to optimize Cloud licensing as well as SAM policies, procedures and processes to facilitate their Cloud strategy and implementation. The data will be gathered by the Partner who will perform a full discovery and inventory outlining all Microsoft product deployments, usage, and entitlements. The Partner will use third party tools, interviews with key customer stakeholders, as well as other sources, to capture all relevant data. During data analysis, use of work-space is required to generate reports to provide customers with a quality and consistent SAM engagement experience. Finally, with the full data collected during the engagement, the Partner will provide recommendations on additional uses of the data to show customers how to get more value from the SAM engagement.
CyberSecurity
The SAM Cybersecurity Review provides the Customer with a foundational analysis of their Cybersecurity infrastructure taking into consideration current software deployment, usage and licensing data. The analysis will be the basis for the evaluation of the Customer’s basic Cybersecurity state, providing insights to what software is deployed and areas of potential risk. The analysis will also provide guidance on cybersecurity programs and policies to help enable strong software asset management and improved cybersecurity. SQL
The SQL Workloads Engagement is designed to provide the Customer with an end-to-end analysis and mapping of their SQL environment, taking into consideration current deployment, usage and licensing data. The analysis will be the basis for the evaluation of the Customer’s overall SQL Server state in relation to their SQL Server strategy, helping the Customer optimize their current SQL workloads while providing insights on the business, licensing and technology benefits to moving additional workloads to SQL. The analysis will also lead to the ability to provide recommendations to optimize SAM policies, procedures and processes to facilitate their SQL strategy and implementation. To establish these recommendations, the Partner will perform a SQL Server, Windows Server and Virtual Machine discovery process, gathered through third-party tools, the Customer, as well as other necessary sources. With this data, the Partner will provide a SQL license review and optimization analysis as well as provide recommendations on additional uses of the data captured to show customers how to get more value from the SAM engagement. During data analysis, use of Workspace is required to generate reports to provide customers with a quality and consistent SAM engagement experience.
